Success!!!

What a glorious day! After about 1 week of being an Avon rep I've made my first sale! Which brings me to another lesson I've learned...Many people out there may be like me and not want to bombard family,n friends, co workers, etc w/ Avon brochures. Subtly works too! I made my first sale by just having a brochure on my desk! That way, interested people come to you. Now I'm not saying you shouldn't tell people about your newfound career. By all means, share the wealth, so to speak. But, I understand just starting out can make you a little self conscious. So start out small. But, be advised you will soon have to come out of your cage :) Happy selling!

Lesson 3....

Lesson 3: Don't give up! So it's been about a week now and I still have no new customers. Plenty of potential customers but no one has actually placed an order. As a new rep, this is very discouraging, I know. But, DON'T GIVE UP! Find little things to make your little "i got this far" mark. For me, it's twitter. I know, you're thinking "what's that got to do with Avon?" Well, I'm using twitter as a social networking tool. There are millions of people on twitter. Why not befriend them and get them to your site? As an eRep you don't have to limit yourself to being local. Go out and advertise to the world! (or atleast the US and Canada lol) So, my little progress marker is that I've only been on twitter for a few days and already I have a few followers. Not enough to make a difference in my site as of yet but as my popularity grows, more people will read my twitters which will give my site (and my blog) more exposure! It all plays in together. Now, I know this may sound complicated but it really isn't and it's actually keeping me sane. If I were only going door to door with my Avon and didn't have any customers by now I'd probably be balled up in a corner crying (ok...a little melodramatic but you get the picture). What I'm saying is don't give up and find little things that show you're progress. Soon enough you'll be booming. And don't scratch out any of your ideas to get noticed. Car bumper stickers, flyers on poles, twittering, whatever. Just get yourself out there. What have you got to lose?...

Lesson 2 of Being A New Avon Representative...

Lesson 2: Be creative in getting new customers! Remember, first and foremost, everyone loves free stuff! As an Avon rep, the way you sell is all up to you! You can offer free samples to bring people in. Show them how awesome Avon is and offer samples and their sure to come back (if they liked it ofcourse). Or, have a customer (or potential customer) host a makeover party and offer the host 20% off any purchases he/she makes. Or, you can offer the entire group a percentage off. It's all up to you. But, advertise that free product...it's what you're using to draw them in. Contrary to popular belief, people still buy Avon. And many people are looking for new reps for a number of reasons (rep quit or moved, etc.). Always be on the look out. Every moment that you're out is an opportunity to get new customers! It's all about marketing. Finding the edge that differentiates you from everyone else. So, go on....FIND YOUR AVON EDGE!

Lessons in Promoting Avon

Lesson 1: Be sure to put as much important info as possible in your profile! If someone is just going through blogs, looking at your profile may be what grabs their attention!

Selling Avon....Week 1

So, it's been one week and I haven't gotten any customers. I'm thinking maybe I'm not advertising enough. I put flyers up though I might need to put more flyers up. The online aspect hasn't been very lucrative either though I'm not giving up hope. I am finding out how much I love Avon though. I can't believe how great the make up is and how much less the cost is compared to the stuff I buy at walgreen's. I absolutely LOVE the skin so soft line! It leaves my hands feeling so soft and supple! I also like the range of cosmetics they have. Each line caters to a different skin type so anyone can use it. It's awesome! I think this is why I'm so eager to begin selling...because I believe this product is great. Hopefully by next week I'll have my first customer!

Day One...

So today is Day one of my blog...Day two of me being an Avon rep. I'm still really excited! I've set up my site and, though I haven't gotten any customers yet, I have a positive outlook on things. I see this as my way to get from under this recession and start supporting myself. I'm soooo tired of my job and, though it pays pretty well, I wish I didn't have to go there everyday lol. Working for Avon lets me work when I want to work and still have time for a life! And, with my store I control everything. I can give discounts, coupons, specials....it's my own little store! As a matter of fact, I've decided to have a grand opening special with 50% off some items and pick up discounts. My fingers are crossed!!!
